Contemporary Dance: Confluence

For this project from the 3rd year of my degree, we had to design costumes for one of a selection of contemporary dances. I chose to design for Confluence choreographed by Tsai Huichen, which can be watched here. I decided that my costumes should embody the qualities of moving water: translucency, flowing movement, colours and patterns. I tried out aerial photography, the work of Maggie Ayres, and my own print designs on jersey and organza of different translucencies. I also looked at water gods, nymphs and naiads. 2017.
