Conceptual Character: Migration

For this project from the 3rd year of my degree, we had to create and original conceptual character around the theme of “migration”. I chose to design a human-alien hybrid from the future, travelling from a dystopian and decaying Earth to find a new home on a new planet. My character has to carry all that she needs within her spacesuit: blueprints, maps, medications, seeds and technology. She has an affinity with technology that has been integrated into her clothing and even her very biology. I pattern cut, screen printed, embroidered, piped, quilted and constructed this costume myself. 2016 – 2017.
